The Porsche Cayenne Electric (4th generation, E4) was unveiled in November 2025 and entered production in February 2026. The first fully electric Cayenne is built on the PPE platform, features a 113 kWh battery, 400 kW charging (10-80% in 16 minutes), and in the Turbo version reaches 804 hp β€” with surge power up to 1,072 hp. The most powerful production Porsche of all time.

The SUV That Saved Porsche β€” Now Electric

The Cayenne is historically the model that financially β€œsaved” Porsche in the early 2000s. Now, the 4th generation marks a radical shift: a fully electric powertrain, built on the Premium Platform Electric (PPE) shared with the new-generation Porsche Macan.

The unveiling took place on November 19, 2025, with orders opening immediately. Serial production began on February 3, 2026 at the Volkswagen factory in Bratislava, Slovakia. It's worth noting that the third generation (with internal combustion engine) will continue to be updated in parallel.

113 kWh Battery: The Largest in a Porsche

The Cayenne Electric is equipped with a 113 kWh battery (108 kWh net usable), consisting of 6 modules bolted to the chassis. Each module houses 4 packs, with 8 pouch cells connected in series. The energy density is ~7% higher compared to the Porsche Taycan's battery.

⚑ 400 kW Charging: The Cayenne Electric supports DC charging up to 400 kW, reaching 10% to 80% in just 16 minutes. It supports NACS and J1772 connectors. It also offers inductive (wireless) charging at 11 kW at home.

The cooling system uses 15% less energy, and the predictive thermal management pre-heats the battery during driving and charging. The weight, however, exceeds 2,645 kg β€” the Cayenne Electric Turbo was described by Motor1 as β€œthe heaviest Porsche ever built.”

Engine: 804 hp β€” Surge Power 1,072 hp

The dual-motor Turbo is the most powerful production model in Porsche history:

ModePowerDetails
Normal operation804 hp (600 kW)Continuous dual-motor power
10-second Surge938 hp (700 kW)Overboost for 10 seconds
Launch Control1.072 hp (800 kW)Maximum launch power

The motors directly cool the stator with non-conductive oil and use silicon carbide (SiC) inverters, achieving 98% motor efficiency. Regenerative braking reaches 600 kW, supporting over 0.5G of deceleration β€” without even touching the brake pedal.

Interior: OLED Screens & Flow Display

The interior marks a new era for Porsche:

Instrument Display

14.25β€³ OLED digital instrument cluster behind the steering wheel

Flow Display

PPE Platform: The Foundation of the Electric Porsche

The Premium Platform Electric (PPE) was co-developed with Audi and is already used in the Porsche Macan II and the Audi Q6 e-tron / A6 e-tron. Key advantages:

Safety: 5-Star Euro NCAP

The Cayenne Electric achieved 5 stars in Euro NCAP:

The Cayenne Electric clearly stands out in charging (400 kW vs 195-200 kW), power (1,072 hp launch control) and regenerative braking (600 kW). Porsche, as always, sets the bar high in technology.

Price & Availability

The Cayenne Electric is a luxury SUV, and the price reflects that. Although prices have not yet been announced for all markets, it is expected to start from €90,000-100,000 for the base version, reaching €150,000+ for the Turbo.

⚠️ Weight β€” The Elephant in the Room: At 2,645 kg, the Cayenne Electric is heavier than even many full-size SUVs. This can negatively affect tire wear, driving dynamics and braking distance. Porsche compensates with the exceptional 600 kW regenerative braking.
